Those is the most convincing snowy bases I have ever seen.  So how did you make the snow - or did you shoot the pics in your refrigerator?

Thanks lentulus - it's this:

- snow is a mix: PVA: Woodlands Scenics Snow: water at about 4: 4: 2 ratio - brushed, shoved, poked & cajoled onto bases & then while it's still wet, it gets another dusting of snow from a height...leave to dry...

When I saw the earlier WIP progress shots I thought they looked a bit off - but clearly you were doing a Rolf Harris - it looks like nothing much until the end when it looks like art! I'm not sure I have the confidence in what the end result will look like to do intermediary steps that don't look right on their own.

Can you tell what it is yet? You're right...and these are heavily stylized - I've done them like this so they look cold & a bit grainy [like most of the footage you watch of this really] - and because I want them on-table pronto
