I'm trying to populate a dark age Scot village and I was wondering if anyone knew any good figures hiding in other ranges.
The Merlin figure in the late Roman range is possible with the proper paint job.  I've already created a shepard by cutting off the spear head of a Saxon fyrdman.
Could halflings in the fantasy range work as children?
How about the fantasy beggars?  They might be too medieval.
Would the kneeling priest in the Viking range work as a kneeling monk?

I'm willing to nip and tuck a miniature so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think medieval peasants, in looks, or at least In 10mm detail, are almost exactly like dark age peasants. Think about it, comman working man, in simple, cheap, working clothes. How that works takes a long time to change usually. K, so scots. They have chainmail and spears/swords. In a few hundred years, they will have plate armor and a few primitive guns. Do these advances affect the peasants and there clothing at all? No.
Glory and Fame! blood is our name! souls full of thunder! hearts of steel! killers of men! a warriors friend! sword to avenge our fallen brothers to the end! one day to, I may fall; I shall enter odins hall!I shall die, sword in hand! my name, and my deeds shall scorch the land!

Hi

The arab civillans from the Sudan range might do as well. There's a few kids in smocks, women folk in full dresses (and veil), some chaps carrying a sack (with fez but could be filed down) and oh yes some guys in full robes and turban........welll its nearly Christmas he could stand in for a genie! (oh no he can't.......)

Thanks for the ideas.  I'm definitely going to give the peasants a go.  Still having a bit of trouble finding women and children.

The halflings are a bit big and bulky for dark aged civilians really.
