Looks very good but I am curious about the one Union flagbearer in advancing pose.  Is he actually a head taller than everyone else?

Nah, he's perched on a blob of blu-tac as I couldn't get him to stand up with the flag pole out to the front like it is!  It'll be fine when it's glued onto a base.

It is just typical example of bad timing.  I have for some time been considering getting an ACW army and finally ordered and picked it up at the Reading show in November.  After a frantic period of painting I played 2nd Bull Run between Christmas and New Year only to read in the December news letter the entire range is to be redone.   C’est la vie.

The latest infantry figures look great and it would be very rude not to expand my army with the new chaps.  I really like the infantry and the artillery crews of the current range, some of the officers are wielding swords of 40k Space Marines proportions but that is my only criticism of the foot.  However the existing range of cavalry is much weaker and I would really like to see them replaced as a priority with something more in the style of the excellent looking infantry we see here.

I was also disappointed with the artillery pieces.  Although I ordered every different variety of gun in the catalogue they were all the same!  So bring on the new guns.

Whilst I am not complaining about the new infantry do you have any idea as to when the cavalry and artillery will be ready?

As for generals, I would like to have a variety of generic staff officers to make up corps and divisional commanders

Ever yours etc.

Thanks for the feedback!

The swords are similar to flagpoles, in that they have to be a bit thicker than normal, as they thin down quite a bit during the moulding process.  Too thin on the master, and the metal wouldn't be able to flow in properly by the time they got to the production mould.

The ACW artillery listed in the current range all used the same carriage, with only the barrels being different.  They do look very similar, but they are all different.

I've just got another batch of masters which cover the Iron Brigade and some foot in greatcoats, so I'll get some pics of those up.  The cav/art will be coming after all the foot have been done.

First Napoleonics, then ACW...  :o...  I think I better start saving my pennies.   Fortunately you haven't expanded the medieval range.  That would definitely break the bank.

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Wow those are great, and the rifles are ALOT better then the old range, were the muskets were really the only thing I didn't like, they were to square and blocky.

wargamesbob

This is turning into a great range of figures...I'm becoming seriously tempted now

Hi all these figures look absolutely fantastic.  I cannot wait for the new ACW range to be released, especially the cavalry, any idea on when these will be available to buy.  Hopefully, before Triples
