I have in the past gamed the Maximillian adventure in 28mm, mainly using using Foundry figures. Even putting on demonstration games at Salute. My interests are now more focused on 10mm gaming.

I'm looking for suitable figures â€" especially for Mexicans in 10mm

Suggestions please…

The South American Pacific range may be of interest.  Likewise some of the Franco-Prussian War French figures may do double duty as Mexicans.
Have you seen the rivets on that?

The South American range is a possibility - but do any of the figures have sombreros?  Not an easy conversion  :(

Aside from the stuff mentioned above, this is what another customer recommended:

A useful book is Freikorps Campaign Booklet No 2 by Allsop and Canavan entitled "The Maximilian War" - it's quite detailed and has b/w illustrations - excellent and looks well-researched?

Although I haven't seen the following figs, I also plan on trying the Jagers in kittel - AU 3 - as being the closest you have to the Austrian infantry, the Italian bersaglieri for some of the Imperial infantry - IT 3 (with the round hats), possibly the Garibaldini depending on their headgear - IT 4.

The Austrian lancers might be covered by the standard bearer figure from what I think was YW 4 (converted to a lancer) which I have used as the Austrian Trani lancers in 1866.

The Belgian infantry field uniform shown in the Osprey might be covered by figs wearing a similar hat for the SCW.

I love the Maximillian Adventure!
Blame Robin Thomson at Lancaster for another great campaign based round it in the 90s  ;D

The Freikorps book is excellent, also WI did a really good series of articles in 1999 about it "Viva the Bull, kill the bull!"
Also get hold of 'Maximillian and Carlotta' for the politics behind it all, superb book!

Did the Austrian Trani lancers wear skirts and makeup?
