Thought it was about time I got round to doing these - and want to get them done fast - so I'm using an abbreviated technique that I used with my Pacific USMC [here: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=2738.0 ]

Undercoated black:

Armour basecoat onto Type 97s:: Desert Yellow

Camo onto Type 95s:: Desert Yellow / Cayman Green

Camo onto Type 97s:: Cayman Green / Beasty Brown + Scab Red 70:30

Fast overbrush basecoat onto all figures:: Rotting Flesh + Khaki + Beasty Brown: 40:40:20

Elapsed time = 55 minutes

So it won't help if I told you that 5 of those was finding reference images for the camo & another 5 was to find the colour mix I wanted for the base uniform colour?  ;D

Nah - not going to rush yours Luke  :) ;)

Right - next step: some simple 2-colour variation to caps, helmets & uniforms (to break up the monotone a bit) + webbing / pouches painted too:

Helmets: German FieldGrey + Khaki + Beasty Brown: 40:40:20
Blanket Roll: Cayman Green
Webbing: Khaki

Took about 45 minutes: total elapsed time = 1 hour 40 minutes

Top work again Nik
It took me that long last night to clean and base up 5 AWI  units (they're outside now, undercoat drying off between showers, paint and slight BBQ smell of bases mingling together!!)
