Yes - the pack is in same position, but the puches are muc h lower, and it has two water bottles.

I would disagree. Three points of historical record

The ammo pouches stay relatively high until 58 comes  along.  (Source www.karkeeweb.com )  Check it out - see David Gordon collection . Hard to tell the difference at 1/1 scale never mind 1/150 !!!

Secondly, no British'Issue' web kit has two water bottles.  This is a local initiative as taught by JWS - it is was current as late as the 1980s. We carried 2 bottles of 58 pattern in Belize. But 58 web, like 44 only has one official bottle.  We picked up the habit from the Aussies who were seconded as instructors.

Thirdly, not much 44 got issued before the end of the war. The only early  image is 'The War Illustrated' (No 212 August 1945) . So '37 web figures  are fine. By the Solomon campaign, Aussie infantry were in US kit apart from hats.(Molo 1973, p.170)
