Possible next project is the Sudan so was wondering how many poses are in packs SC5, 6 and 7 and if any of the figures in these packs are rifle armed.

If not what ranges/codes wuld make for suitable rifle armed arabs/tribesmen to compliment the range

Hi Nosher

I would recommend the Mahdist army pack as being value for money, considering the numbers needed for the Mahdi's/Khalifa's army. Regarding poses, there are 7 types of figures included in the army pack

turbaned arab riflemen
4 different fuzziy wuzzy's - 3 with spears & shields, 1 with sword & shield
3 shaven headed- 2 with spears & shields, 1 with sword & shield
Camel riding fuzzy's

All figures are advancing/charging. Also have a look at the link below for extra riflemen

Hope the above helps

How many officers/staff/ensigns/trumpeters/bagpipers come in the British Infantry/Naval Brigade/Egyptian Infantry Packs?

Is there any mounted command figures for the british/egyptians?

Is the Mahdist command pack foot or horse or a mixture of both?

Cheers in advance ;)

The highlanders from the boer war range come with one piper and a cracking officer figure firing his pistol at the hordes.

The Sudan codes are all 2-3 poses each, and there's a rifle in SC7, but I'll double check the moulds tomorrow and get back to you with more definite answers.

Hello Nosher

I don't know about the Brits/Egyptians as I'm planning to do the Sudan'ish campaign circa. 1898 using Boer/NWF Brit. figures but I would second Jim Ando's recommendation of the Highlanders, they're rather nice!

As for the Madhist command, they're foot with two poses - one chap carrying a flag and another clad in armour for a chief. For a extra bit of spice you could add the civillans from the range and use a figure in turban and robes for a commander(s)

You could also pick a few figures out of the Afghan range.

How many officers/staff/ensigns/trumpeters/bagpipers come in the British Infantry/Naval Brigade/Egyptian Infantry Packs?

Is there any mounted command figures for the british/egyptians?

Cheers in advance :D

Naval brigade, SC3: 1 pose, firing.
Egyptian Inf, SC4: 2 poses, firing and advancing.

If you're doing the earlier period, then the British would be from ZC1 and are 2 poses, firing and advancing.
For the later side, it would be BW5, wich has 3 varieties of advancing poses.

These all have a single officer figure in them, however we can provide extra if you want them.

Finally, for mounted command, you can use the two codes in the Boer range, BW's 19 & 20.
