Yes, that's right - we can announce that Legionary 2012 (TWELVE) has just been booked once again at the Matford Centre. We can promise the smell of a cow shed, cream teas, lots of tables full of pewter and plastic and a friendly welcome - sort of!

So book you summer weekend break early and combine it with a trip to a wargames show. Who knows, Pendraken might even be there?  :o

At the moment, we're looking to reduce the number of shows for next year, but if Dave gets his move to Cornwall sorted, I'm sure this would be first on the list of new shows to do.

Excellent  8)

I'll be there with Major D [we're going to bung dice together - or possibly at each other] & Kiwidave I expect too; it's a top-notch show & the new venue is coolio [I like cow sheds  :)]

Just got to decide what to game - to be honest, it's probably about time I did something other than WW2 / Moderns in public...plenty of time though, eh?

With so much notice, my aim is to attend next year. At least it doesn't clash with any birthdays etc. Why not do some WMA or BP Nik?

I've asked Major D what he'd like to play  8)

It's now less than a month until May 5th and Exeter Legionary.  Legionary is the biggest wargames show in the South West, and has been run by several different clubs over its 20 year history. The Exmouth Imperials have been involved as co-organisers for five years now, and in our first year in sole charge hope to make the show even bigger and the most varied wargames event in the area. We have twenty wargames traders selling historical, fantasy and sci fi figures, rules and terrain; over a dozen demonstration or participation games ranging from 422BC to manga-inspried sci fi; tournaments for Warhammer and something out of the ordinary to test your skills in Warhammer 40K; a Pathfinder Society scenario for the roleplayers; and the usual huge and busy bring and buy.  So if you want to buy, sell, play or just look at wargames on May 5th 2012 there’s no better place in England.  Entry to the show itself is £3.

Exmouth Imperial Wargames Society is a wargames club that has been running for over 10 years in Exmouth, East Devon. We meet every Wednesday night in the function room of The Bath House on Exmouth seafront (next to Elizabeth Hall). We play a wide range of games â€" historical, fantasy and science fiction â€" and all scales. We’d welcome more players so if you’re in the area, feel free to pop in.

You are aware that the distance from Penzance to Exeter is well over a hundred miles? Having driven it last weekend I can assure you it's not a quick trip to fetch the papers.  :(
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

I'm not sure if the move to Cornwall is still on anymore.  The house is near Launceston, so it's about an hour to Exeter city centre.  That's not too bad when you think we do Middlesbrough to Glasgow/Edinburgh/Birmingham/St Helens on the morning of the shows!
