A bit silent...

I've been a bit silent of late, mainly because my wife's mum was very ill, early this week she decided she'd had enough suffering, and asked for a sedation, which was administered on Monday.  She serenely passed away Tuesday evening, after a one year long and painful battle.  She smiled until the end, such a courageous woman.

My sympathies Rudy. My Mum has been suffering with dementia for over two yearsmand is in such a critical state, that sedation would be the kindest thing. Unfortunately, this is not allowed over here.

Thanks guys, family has been hit hard.  We all have to go through stuff like that, it's a part of life.  We don't have to like it though.  My wife's mum finally has some rest, but the kids were very close, so tough to see them go through this at their age.  I'm almost 50 and I still got my gran...

Sad to hear about the state of your Mum, Steve.  I reckon it's very tough, seeing someone you love in that state, and being unable to help
And Dour Puritan, condolences to you as well.  Losing both your parents in such a short period of time must be hard.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Time is a healer. My own mother passed away 8 years ago and whilst I do not think about her everyday, when I do it brings a smile rather than a sense of loss remembering all the daft things she used to do and say.

My sincere condolences to you and your family sir. I can't speak English so well to say you my personal "simpaty" for your lost. But, finaly, she rest and left you and your wife with a smile.
My Dad was sicked for so many years and the last year of his life was very painfull. Sedation is not allowed in "barbaric" Italy.
