Chaps,

My slowly ongoing project to build 2 ACW armies is grinding on and I am currently at the point where I want to add some flags. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations about the best kind of wire/material to use?

Hope you can help,

John

We've just sourced some 0.7mm wire for the League of Augsburg packs.  I'll update as soon as it's on the website.

Here, in Poland I go to the nearest big model hobby shop and buy 0,6 or 0,7 mm brass (not steel) wire.

Why not try a straightened out paper clip.
Not as stiff as the purchased brass rod but has the benefit of being cheap. Very cheap if you happen to work in an office  ;) :D.

Brass rod is good. Easy to cut and a bit of flex to stop it bending/breaking in use.

Another option is to use broom bristles - the thicker plastic kind on a yard brush. Particulary good for pikes so you don't spear yourself to your phalanx  :'(
