You know what it's like, trying to explain to wives/mothers/in-laws what you want for Christmas/Birthday is 3 packs Bavarian's at port musket, 5 packs of advancing, etc.

Is there any way you chaps could do a list for customers, so aunties can ring up and say 'Give him £10 worth'.  My father-in-law won't give money, for years I had WH Smiths vouchers (distinct lack of N Gauge there)

I realise that the online 'Amazon' style version may not be possible, but people had gift lists at shops before the interwebs.  It could just be the accounts elves/goblins/trolls with a bit of paper (plant based or electronic) crossing stuff off as the order comes in, starting at the top and working down. Even just some form of gift voucher, or you hold the cash on account - we tell Great Aunt Maude what our log in name is, you note it up.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Gift vouchers are something we'll be adding at some point, where people can buy a voucher of a set amount, and they will be sent a code.  Then you can come online, choose your goodies, put the code in, and we'll take care of the rest.

What you can also do though, is add things to your basket and leave them there.  As long as you don't clear your cache regularly, the items should stay there.  Then you can pass your login details to the Mrs for example, she logs in, confirms the basket, and Robert's your mother's brother...   :D
