War of the Worlds

Hi all, was thinking of getting a bunch of the fantastic Tripods and some colonial looking british. But I am at a loss as to how to use them (what rules to use and so on), I was thinking of War of the Worlds based scenarios for example. But wanted to put in some of the later weapons like early tanks and the such. any ideas?

Several years ago, I mastered a wargame based on Star Wars Assault on Hoth (West End Game), with adapted rules from originally boardgame (very few modifications). The game was card driven, fast and very funny. You can replace AT-AT with tripods, snowspeeders with biplans, heavy laser towers with fields artillery. You can find the rules on the web. Otherwise you could use SJ Ogre, with Tripods in the role of legged cybertanks.

There's a tripods army list in the Alien Squad Leader rules too. That's what I'll be using mine for once the reinforcements arrive from Pendraken HQ.
