I really should have posted this prior to the Show!  :-[

Just wondering if any forum members attended the Kirriemuir show last Saturday. I was involved with putting on one of the 10 participation games. Only one trader as the show was taking place at the town's Guide Halls which were rather small, however it was Dave Thomas! So, managed to buy some bits and pieces and have a nice chat with Phil.

Also, a very good B&B which included a number of Charles Grant's 'Wargaming in History' series which the man himself was selling! The raffle was good (My mate says I had to say that as I won a pack of Scheltrum's Victorian sci-fi figures).

All in all a very enjoyable day in a great friendly atmosphere with lots of wargaming chat in the North-East of Scotland (and only a journey of an hour for me!).

Look forward to next year.

Yes, I was there with a few chums from Edinburgh, a mere 2 hour drive.

I had a quick kafuffle with some gladiators, bought a book and a couple of boxes of second hand plastic.

No luck in the raffle.

I took part in judging the display games using quality of figure painting as my criterion. I never found out who actually won as we scooted off down south before darkness fell.

Hi Jim,

I should have posted before the show to see if any forum members would be in attendance.

You did a great job with the judging (no, we didn't win) and totally agreed with your choices - with the Sudan game and the Gladiatorial combat game winning the Targes.

Just a shame the show has slimmed down from its pre-covid days.

Cheers,

I voted for the Sudan game, it was top notch.

I was not allowed to vote for the gladiator game as I was 'proxy voting' on behalf their displayer.
