Shouldn't there be an Infantry platoon for Marines, or at least of veteran infantry in this army list? I'd say that if the other American army lists can use veteran troops than they should probably have that option in the Pacific.

Additionally I might suggest adding a concscript platoon type to represent the low quality Phillipine troops deployed in the early campaigns of the war.

Somewhere on the forum - in a thread far, far, back in time, the whole business of the status of US Marines was discussed, debated and fought over at great length.

As with most of the BKCIV lists, the majority of infantry are (by & large) all graded as standard (with a few obvious exceptions). But for +5pts per base you can upgrade your units to veteran (if you desire) or for -5pts you can downgrade them to Green/Raw.

Personally, I've never seen US Marines as veterans, by default. Maybe at the end of the war a few units might have fought often enough and not had an overwhelming influx of Green conscripts added to replaces losses, and thus dilute their overall Veteran status, to be qualified as Vets. But not by default.

I figured there was an answer, I tried searching to see if someone else had asked but I didn't see anything. I wouldn't have asked except I noticed that the Marines got their own army list in Forgotten War.

A second question I have. Should US trained Chinese soldiers in Burma be considered US Far East or merely higher quality Chinese?

I'd go with slightly better Chinese or try grading them as 'Fragile', that would probably be a more realistic representation. Give it a try.  :)
