We have 20mph imposed where I live.  Waste of time, nobody seems to obey it and it isn't being enforced.  Got overtaken on the inside today by a bloke on a mobility scooter who turned off into a local care home!

Maybe they have their speedometers calibrated in Welsh miles per hour rather than imperial miles per hour?

A Welsh mile (milltir or milldir) was, according to Wikipedia, 3 statute miles and 1,470 yards long (6.17 km), though it has not been used offically since the 14th century.

So 20 welsh mph would be roughly equivalent to 60mph?

Mind you I don't think that arguement would stand up in court somehow
