After a busy month of entries and a week of voting, it's time to announce the winners of the 2024 Pendraken Painting Competition!  The standard of work on show has been as high as ever and we'd like to thank everyone who entered.

As usual the voting was done by our friendly Forum members who each had 5 votes to cast per category, so without further ado...

The Winners of the 2024 Pendraken Painting Competition are:

Foot - Pre-20th C. (20 entries)

This category had the highest number of entries and had one clear winner, with a couple of others fighting it out all week long...

1st place: Forez42's Nap French 61e Ligne Regiment - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: BernaDotDotDot's Saxon 9th Corps - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Foot - 20th C. (10 entries)

This category had the lowest number of entries but at a high standard, so we had one clear winner but there was a real battle for second place with almost all of the other entries holding that spot at some point over the last 7 days.

1st place: Villev's SCW Nationalists - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: Maraviglia's WWII British 8th Army - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Mounted (14 entries)

This was the tightest of all the categories this year with six different entries vying for that first place slot.  In the end one entry pulled ahead in the last 48 hours and grabbed the win!

1st place: Forez42's 1809 French Cuirassiers - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: fsn's Late Roman cavalry - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Vehicle (15 entries)

We had a lot more entries in this category this year, but I think this is one of those occasions where some people made too many entries and split their own vote, causing them to lose out on a potential 1st place!

1st place: ale's WWII Trento motorised division - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: Maraviglia's WWII US Lee's - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Fantasy & Sci-Fi (10 entries)

We had fewer entries in this category this year but there was some great work on show.  The winner jumped ahead right from the first day of voting but second place was hotly contested with a festive entry almost getting a prize!

1st place: Forez42's Bloodbowl dwarves - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: Corso's Arthur and Merlin - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Open - Single Base (15 entries)

We had a nice mix of entries here from various ranges and genres and I think this might be the first time we've had a non-historical entry grabbing a prize...

1st place: BernaDotDotDot's 1809 Saxon commanders - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: TShetland's Sci-Fi diorama - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Open - Army! (16 entries)

This is where 10mm excels and it's great to see these big armies on the table.  There was some great 'scene setting' this year too which adds to much to the visual impact of the entries.  The winner of this category led right from the start, with a few others fighting for second place during the week...

1st place: ale's WWII North African Italians - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: BernaDotDotDot's 1809 Saxons - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

And that's for another year!  Congratulations to all of our winners, we'll be posting all of your entries to our social media and you'll receive an email in the next few days with your prize voucher.  We'll also get your Winner's tags added to your profiles, which is of course the most important thing!

Thank you to everyone who entered and took the time to prepare your entries.  We always look forward to the Painting Competition and seeing what you can do with our little metal figures.  We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

Congratulations to all.... Some very very nice work there.

Congratulations all. The detail is amazing . I am still convinced that the winners paint 28mm figs and somehow shrink them down to 10mm otherwise they could not possibly get it onto a standard 10 mm figure.

Your figures are very nice, but I think your infatuated flattery of M'lady may have got you the votes - A little bird told me (actually casting Dwarf) that M'lady had used her charm on the Dark Lord to allow her to give multiple votes.

Still its who you grovel to, not what you know  ;D  ;D  ;D

When you've not got the talent, you have to use other methods.  :)

I'm not too proud to accept sympathy votes.
