Hi All,

Latest figures sculpted for the AWI range, again due to the sponsorship of generous Pendraken customers.

First up Hessian musketeers and grenadiers firing (fusiliers already in the range).

I am in no danger of winning any photography awards, but you get the idea. More Hessians to preview tomorrow.

Agreed. Those look great.

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

Thanks as always guys. These German infantry may be the most complex foot figures I've done in 10mm. They have quite a lot of gear, and I had run out of cast muskets so I had to start sculpting them from scratch- a process I hate and when I started the AWI it took me hours to sculpt the first one for dollying. More experienced now so it's not as hard, but it's still a pain. Thankfully I still had dollied headgear to work with. Grenadier mitres are super complex; I don't think I could face doing all the piping mutiple times...

Anyway, some grenadiers advancing with fixed bayonets.

Very nice indeed Clibinarium  :-bd

I'm sure that Paul is even now calculating how many more Hessian units he needs when these guys are released ;D :-\

1. Those figure sculpts are masterful, in my opinion.
2. The photography is excellent.
[not that I'm an expert on either of the above - just an admirer of talent]

They really are gorgeous little miniatures. So much so, that they're making me think about buying them & I don't even do AWI or have reason to require them  :)

You've put buttons on the gaiters... In 10mm

SO glad I don't do AWI.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Well, I'm cheating there really; they are just holes pushed in so that they can be left/washed in black. I have had complaints before that I don't actually sculpt the buttons in (i.e. raised). That would be possible but its a lot of awkward work, and my guess  is people wouldn't thank me for making the paint jobs even more complex.
The test is always "Would I want to paint that?", and in this case the answer is "no".

Yes, absolutely yes

A great test to apply, I find your sculpts a joy to paint :)
