What is the correct point cost for a Mi-24D Hind D when equiped with a 9M17P Falanga-PV ATGW? In the Sovjet list in the rulebook it cost 190 point. In the warsaw pact grade 1 and 2 list it cost 130 point. Usualy the online list supercied the rulebook but here it looks like i mistanke. On top of that 130 points seems very low for a 7/200 ATGW. So which is the right price?

Hi Chris
You are correct in that in this instance the cost looks to be wrong.
All the Helicopter costs, across all the lists are being reviewed and revised, (as well as a lot of the AFV & ATGW stats), as part of the project Leon mentioned in his Plans for 2024 posting.

TBF I'd rather not start dishing out revised costs on a one-by-one basis Chris (at present) until all this work has been completed. This is primarily because it such an incredibly complex process and there are so many factors that effect each stat that things are changing continually, as I review them individually and also as each weapon stat effects/interacts others.

However, as a 'rule of thumb' if you take the base cost for the same INF:ATGW system and then add 30pts for the basic helicopter points cost (move:50 | 2/50AP |3 lives |saves on a 6) + any increases for additional weapon stats + any increased lives or saves (+ usually plus the cost of unit Transport capability for the Russians) your Mi-24D Hind D with 9M17P Falanga-PV comes out at: 285pts  :D *
HELI:ATTK |50|4/50|4/50|4|4|-/-[3] |1976+  Transport (1) ATGW 9M17P Falanga-PV (AT-2 Swatter-C) - 7/200

* NB: Helicopters were far too cheap in CWCI - but then they only came on-table as once a turn air-strikes. Now in CWCII they can be deployed as on-table asset, with multiple move & shoot capabilities, which makes them formidable (in the right circumstances). So a points adjustment is necessary. This increased cost also takes into account the fact that they are now Dedicated units and also that they are very often now Stabilized (where appropriate). And if you think this is a big 'hike' in cost, wait until you see some of the later Gulf War era Apache's  :o

I hope that helps?
But if I can kindly ask for no more such requests (from anybody), for now please, I'd be most grateful.
Plus, please understand that the new cost above may well need to be adjusted before the final stats are 'launched'  :)
Many thanks
Mark

Hi Mark
Thank you for our answer and I promise not to ask any more points questions.

We will just go with the Sovjet 190 point for now.

That's fine, as other units points costs will change with the current review - some will increase, some will decrease.
This process has come about as we had a number of contributors to the initial army lists and some 'variation' in their interpretation of how to cost units. The revised costs will have a lot more 'continuity' to them, and are not that far off becoming reality. So thank you for bearing with me on this  :)
