What is the recommended number of frames per base?  I think I have seen variations in different photos.

Is it one die per combat unit and on command and magic units 2-3?

Thanks,

Yes, 1 for wounds on all bases. Then for Magic or Command units extra holders to record their extra dice.

Fred,

How many extra frames would you recommend for magic or command points?  Two?

Command needs two, minimum, one for wounds, one for command points.
It you have a +1 or +2  general or nage, you might get up to 7 or 8, but it's rare.
So up to you, two or three.

I'd agree that if this is for Warband then as Lord Speedy says - you can boost some Mage or Command units up to 7 or 8 (so an extra dice holder helps make it all neat).

I play another game where the basic units not only collect hits (casualties) but also disorder and fatigues - so each unit has a standard 3 dice holders on them - but in that set of rules the Command and Magic users have standard stats.

I have also used separate dice holders, mounted on coins, that can be placed beside a unit. That works equally well.

I've just used a single frame on each base and I track magic points and command points with counters off-table
