After the disgraceful performance by England at the weekend, I wonder who'd bet against France for the World Cup, or were we so awful that France looked better side than they really are

England were dire. Even little Scotland gave them a thrashing.

England haven't played well for a while now. As the pundits have said during this Six Nations competition, we will get a true reflection of where England are at when they play France & Ireland. Well we know they were shocking against France and France were playing wonderful rugby (or were allowed to).

Ireland might be a different challenge given all the injuries they had against Scotland. Mind you Ireland pushed back the Scottish scrum with a 3rd option hooker who normally plays tight/loosehead :o .

Scotland have the best team they have had for years at the moment but they faded in the second half against Ireland.  Not sure if they can improve in time for the World Cup.

Hmm - Bit different after last Sunday. Man down - lets not ruck and maul to Tries, just make sure points go on the board.

Let's see how they do Sunday against Japan.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

I loathe team sport, but I've been given the impression that the Scottish speciality is a making a brilliant start and then giving up.

I don't understand why people support football or such like teams.  It is a mystery to me - to coin a phrase

I played rugby (Union) from age 11 to 39. First five years under protest, the next 23 with great joy. I'm not a very gregarious person but I love the delight to be had in playing rugby. Why people don't all play it is a mystery to me. :D

I love rugby.  But as a skinny kid/teen watching big people thunder towards you can make playing seem a bit daunting...

About 30 years ago, when I was 14ish, I put a tackle in on Andy Child as he ran past. It was a good tackle except for one thing. I hit him as he went past, got my shoulder in, arms locked around him, perfect.  Except I was about his waist, not his thighs.  Thus his legs were not restricted.

He continued to run, with his heels hitting my face as he did so. I dare not release, because that would mean me falling face first into said heels.
