 After finishing the Spartans, Phil (no, the other one) asked me to do some medieval Irish for him from the Donnington Ancient & Modern range.Always up for a challenge, I agreed.

They arrived and rather fun figures they were too. I painted them under the principle of the posher, the better the clothing.

Starting off with the lowest of the low, the slingers.

I did read somewhere (so it might be true) that at least one Irish King issued clothing laws which set out which clothing was acceptable depending on social class.  Presumably to stop affluent and fashionista "middle class" folk getting ideas above their station as the peasants wouldnt afford it anyway.
