All...I'm now working on/repairing the TB line Mongols, and I'm getting very confused regarding the camel rider in the mounted command group.

When I first looked at it this figure, I thought that a putty 'rein' had come off in an old mould, (and stayed there,) as the metal figure only has a single rope leading from the camel's mouth and along the camel's neck on the right hand side of the beastie.

Having 'Googled' a few pictures, it now looks as though a single 'rein' is more than likely be right.
BUT.....This single rein seems to disappear into the right side of the camel's camel's mouth, and not come out on the other side.

How does that work ?

Should there be a wee bit of 'halter' coming out of the camel's mouth on the left hand side and joining the 'single rein' from under the camel's chin ??

I can't see how you'd have any control of said camel. (As it is at the moment.)

Hope that makes sense.

Compared to the 20 minutes to mix the putty..and then get the green stuff to finally stick to the damn thing's nose.

It shouldn't.
Traditionally what you have is a nose peg.
One rope is attached. It may look as if it goes to the mouth at that scale but it should be to the side of the nose. The peg goes through the nose. The rope is on one side only.
I know what it sounds like, but honestly!
Try Googling mongolian camel nose peg images (I promise you the results will not be erotic - though they may be nsfw depending on whether there are any PETA or RSPCA folk about).
