Now if your really want a good modern bash (1973) you can't get much better than Arabs v Isrealis. There's a wide range of kit which wargamers love. The biggest tank battle since Kursk in the Sinai. Bloody tank charges across the Golan. Guided weapons. Unfortunately not much available in 10mm so I'm using 1/300th. So come on Pendraken if you were to do this in 10mm I would buy!

That's a new one!  I'll pop it down.
www.pendraken.co.uk - Now home to over 7000 products, including 4500 items for 10mm wargaming, plus MDF bases, Battlescale buildings, I-94 decals, Litko Gaming Aids, Militia Miniatures, Raiden Miniatures 1/285th aircraft, Red Vectors MDF products, Vallejo paints and much, much more!

Interesting.
I've RFCM AK-47 Republic, could any such figures be used with these rules with the IDF/PLO lists?
Not something I am clued up on really but I'm all for more modern stuff in this scale, so I can expand my lot for AK-47 [not got around to CWC] outside of 15mm.

There is some stuff for Arab-Israeli from Minifigs Modern Range but can be quite expensive and the infantry are very limited in pose and variety and very little artillery and no infantry saggers!

It would a fascinating project because the 10mm scale would capture the vast distances yet still make the portrayal of the various types of equipment visible to the gamers

The ranges are very important as the Isrealis with the 105mm were able to achieve a 50% hit rate at nearly a mile where as the T55 and T62's had to get to within 900 yds to achieve the same. On the other hand Egyptian SAGGERs were highly effective out to 1800yds which was about their maximum range.

Natxo

Here is another spanish guy who wants it done.

I've added these extra votes, it's surprising to see the interest in something like this.

There is already some bits available from Pendraken: American half tracks and M113 for Isreali troop carriers and supports. The Sherman model could probably be converted into the Super Sherman and the Egyptians could use the SU100 which were deployed at one battalion per infantry div. I have photo of Isreali infantry in US helmets. There is also a lot of "nock" ons from the period Egptian infantry and modern russians would be interchangable. T55s could be used in any conflict from Vietnam to african bush wars.
Why is the Yom Kippur War appealing to wargame? Because its a full- on "kick ass" war - Not an insurgency. By the way what we call modern happened nearly 40 years ago!  ;D

That's good info, the more we already have, the better!

I always had a weak spot for this one.
