Cricket as combat is an interesting take. Ah well, if you can win, cheat, then change the rules to make it legal.

 Tres Rule Britannia :D

Anyway, how 'bout them Naps?

I tried to convince club mates to use 10mm but they wanted Warlords Epic "one stop shop" approach :(

So now I have Naps in 2mm, 6mm, 13.5mm, occasionally play in 15mm with other peoples figures, 20mm (awaiting sale) and 28mm...

But not glorious 10mm!

That's interesting considering the small range currently available from Warlord and the limited possibility for the lower volume units in plastic.  With 10mm or 15mm you've got multiple manufacturers, comperehensive ranges, etc. that I would have thought would be more appealing.

You'd think so, but - never underestimate the power of a box, with all the troops, some scenery, bases and a shiny rule book...

I've received my final batch of Spanish Buildings - which is cool.

A question about the church - is the tower meant to attach to the main building in a specific place? I can't see an obvious join point, and all sides of the main building have windows, as does the tower. And I can't spot an orientation or location which doesn't leave half a window showing on one of the other. Any hints appreciated.

Are any of these buildings on the site for ordinary buyers? I don't seem to be able to find them.

Good to hear that they've arrived safely.

The Church is an interesting design by John, he's made it so that it can be used as two standalone pieces, or so that you can combine them together.  All that's needed is to decide which side you'd like the tower to sit (usually to the front end near the main doors) and then lightly sand flat the roof tiles and lower wall section of the main church piece.  Just enough for the width of the tower to sit flush against the wall.  Glue in place and away you go.

Thanks Leon. I had wondered if it was meant to be two separate pieces.

I hadn't thought of positioning the tower on the front of one of the side walls - I'll have a play around and see what I like the look of. Then as you say its just a small trim back of the overhanging roof, to get things flush - and perhaps a fill of one of the tower windows.

Once we release them properly we'll have some pics on the website for positioning the pieces, so that'll help.  It's supposed to be a more rural style, like these ones:

Thanks. Looks very similar to the first one.

I'd not thought of a stone finish - was thinking more white wash

The white wash was too expensive.  Even at the time of the Civil War, as I understand it, white washed buildings in rural Spain were the exception rather than the rule.

fred.

Good to know. I was thinking very much the typical red roof, white walls. Will do a bit more research
