Until the pot went dry I have been using Games Workshop Dark Flesh for my indigenous African warriors and well pleased with the tone.

Is there a compatible Vallego acrylic shade ?  Vall 927 looks .....pale.

VAL72044 dark fleshtone?

Don't have it but the colour looks similar, just a bit darker. (i still have the old gw one)

FierceKitty

A hijack, but one of the most alarming things I have ever seen was a Xhosa student having an attack of appendicitis. The poor woman went from chocolate brown to zombie grey in a few seconds.
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

She MUST have been in pain.......Poor lass. X_X

At my level of painting,  I am looking for a "one stop pot"  :)

This seems to give some decent equivalents https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Paint_Range_Compatibility_Chart.

Doombull brown is apparently the new name from GW. It suggests Mahogany Brown (846) from Vallejo model. I don't have it myself but if anyone else does they could maybe send you a picture to see how it matches up (hard to tell from a photo though!)

I have Mahogany Brown (846) from Vallejo model and use it for horse tack & other leather work
Definitely not my idea of a 'one stop port' for African native soldiers

I used 872 Chocolate Brown for the small number of freed slaves in the South Carolina Royalists wanting a strong contrast with the majority of the regiment

John Cook provided this useful like a couple of years ago http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1310 comparing Vallejo colours to photographs

I use Vallejo Model Colour Beige Brown 875 for ACW US Coloured troops, SCW Moroccan Regulares and North African 12th Century types.  With a sepia wash, which all my figures get, they are more than dark enough for 10mm figures.

However, as paulr says, go to this site:

It provides everything you need.

Also look here:

https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Paint_Range_Compatibility_Chart

It compares just about every paint range in the known galaxy.  It recommends Vallejo Model Colour Mahogany 846
