Just keep the next one you catch in the bath and only look at it wearing your optivisor 

Check every one you catch and up-size as opportunity allows 

Make sure that your pet is female - the males tend to die-off in the late autumn as they go looking for love and forget to eat  - to guarantee many happy years with your pet
