Cruel Rivers ?

.Those who follow my questions and queries will know I am setting up a 1939 era sideshow game in 6mm based loosely around the area of what was once Mesopotamia. An uncivil war with Western powers backing various factions for access to the oil.

The River Euphrates features in the game. And there is a need for river craft.  Dhows and transports .....and MTBs and ......gunboats ?

Scotia Grendel do a amazing Type C Japanese gunboat and Irregular Miniatures have a WW1 style boat.   Cruel Seas do weapon/gun packs that allows these ships to be upgunned etc.

The battle for the Cruel Rivers is on.

Zevzda have the Russian gunboat in 1/350, ok a tad small but ?

I will tell you what I am in the market for.  A commercial steamer/ferry - shallow draft - that could be commandeered to transport troops.  Anything out there in 1/300 or close ?

What about the Warlord cruel seas range? With all the wpn packs you might be able to scratch something - they do a tanker.

Many thanks for the heads up -  Cruel Seas will spawn a range of 3D accessories in 1/300 ships- not bad thing. 
A bit too ocean going for what I had in mind/budget.  But I will keep looking. 
If I can't find it or blodge it, I might just commission it.

Might have found the hull I am looking for! Plus a stern wheel casting (the hardest part to scratch build)

Pendraken colonial range SC9 in 10mm  - keep the deck, stern wheel, smokestack and canopy. Add a new cabin area, wheel house and ramp in 1/300

Once you got a hull thgen you are away, with card and glue. Ships are easy to build, honest. Must be if I can. Hardest part will be the stern, with a massive tumble home, but a 1/4 of a ball, or flower fixing one will help there.

I will.  I have an armada of ships in 1/144,  mostly scratch built on a hull. My favourite is a hopper barge for my version of The Sea Wolves raid on Goa.
It started life as the hull of Revell  1/108 harbour tugboat.
Sometimes I think I might be in the wrong hobby!   
1/300 is just a matter of finding - as you say Ian -the right hull.

The total actual cost of these would be about £2 in materials and about 12-14 hours print time. They don't even look amazingly well printed. The seller is also in breach of the creative Commons License under which they are distributed, by advertising them for sale at a profit.

Your comment on the license, however, is very valid.
