10mm Sumerians

In 10mm, there seems to be 3 different ranges for Sumerians: Magister Militum, Steve Barber, and Newline. Anyone know how these three ranges match up in terms of height and heft? Any pictures out there of side by sides? Thanks so much!

The Newline Greeks that I have very fine detail compared to MM but they are similar height if that helps at all

I use all three together and am happy with the result. The only uneasy pair-up I find is using Kallistra's stuff with anything else.

I found Steve Barbers Sumerian figures to be a bit on the small size to use with MM.

MM can sometimes vary from range to range and sometimes within a range depending if they have had more than one sculptor working on the range.  There is significant dirfference in some of the MM early imperial roman figures I have.

Given the wide variation in heights and builds in the actual population I am bemused by the obsession we all seem to have with producing the Clone Army for our chosen period.

Have to agree with this but within limits.

I remember seeing a massive Malplaquet battle report in one of the wargaming mags
which featured old minifigs up against 28mm giants.   A fantastic report but it certainly
illustrated the gulf between the original 25mm size and todays figures.   Pleased to see,
though, that the Minifig midgets actually beat the newer 'giants'.

I am very happy in mixing different sized figures (within reason) on the same base, particularly if irregular troops or in loose order, but I worry about  fielding units  entirely composed of say 10mm figures and putting them alongside a unit composed entirely of 12 mm troops.  It looks odd, especially if light cavalry tower above heavy in height and bulk

Well. there's an advantage to doing Sumerians I hadn't thought of - no cavalry, only donkey carts

Bemuse away. I actually prefer to mix and match with ranges. I enjoy the variation of size and sculpt and often do this on the same base. As we get to smaller sized figures, the difference in a millimeter can mean a lot more (compare 5mm to 6mm and then a 25mm figure and a 26mm figure). Not looking for a clone army, and I am aware people are of varying sizes. However, in an army such as the Sumerians I would like to determine if the Ox carts are compatible or if the shields are of the same size.
