....but definitely one i want to share. We have just added a new original piece of art to our little collection of 19th century originals, but this one is very special. It only just arrived so we've not had a chance to frame it yet but we will be doing so. However, had to get it up so we could enjoy it.





Yeah, I know what you all are thinking but let me also introduce you to the artist, and you'll see why it is so special.

The 'wabbit's' got an eye for colours.  :)
(Better than certain famous so called 'artists' i could name.)

I'm pretty sure Bini is not for sale! However, we have adopted a second bunny, that the local fire dept. found. It is a sad fact that so many people get a little bunny thinking how cute they are, then expect them to behave and act like a dog or a cat, while the truth is they are not. Bunnies are considered an exotic pet, and require much more care than a dog or cat. So for that reason or when their little hormones kick in they decide enough of this so I'll just put you out in the wild where bunnies live anyway. Truth is a domestic bunnies life span once dumped out is about 24 hours. They are not like a wild bunny so are not "street wise" to the outdoors, nor do they have the internal stuff that a wild bunny has. In reverse, at least for a cottontails over here, one would not survive if it were tried to be domesticated.

Our new baby is named Winston aka Cowboy Bunny, and we are hoping to bring him home this coming Sunday after church. He had his surgery almost two weeks ago, but we still need to let his little hormones subside before we bring him into the house with Clover - the first bunny we adopted. Now we are praying that Winston and Clover will bond. Bunnies are a very social creature and like having a mate, but they also create a hierarchy and once that is established it usually works out - but that can takes weeks or months.

Here's a video of little Winston at the Bunny Rescue facility two days after his surgery - pretty tough little guy I'd say. He looks to be a breed called a Rex, but will no more when I get to hold him. By the way. most bunnies HATE to be held. They are a prey animal and holding them is like being attacked. We only hold Clover when we need to take her to the vet or to clip her nails.

In Clover's videos you see several things. In the first one she gnaws the box, which is good because like their nails a bunnies teeth never stop growing so they need stuff to gnaw to keep them worn down.... and yes we have the gnawed baseboards to prove it! In the longer video you will see her chin my fingers a couple of times. Bunnies have scent glands under their chin that they mark things they claim as theirs, and if they do it to a human that is a major sign of love. Humans cannot smell the scent from those glands, and in fact bunnies have no odor at all. They are a very clean creature, their droppings have no odor at all so about all you smell with a bunny is fresh hay, which makes up about 80% of their diet. Oh and bunnies are very easy to potty train - took less than 3 minutes with Clover.

This is probably way more than any of you ever wanted to know about bunnies, but our love for them is boundless.

Wouldn't have thought they would be too much, but if you don't have the cash, you could always burrow .....
