After this weekends trip over to Antwerp, I was wondering: what's the furthest you've travelled for the hobby?

:-\
www.pendraken.co.uk - Now home to over 7000 products, including 4500 items for 10mm wargaming, plus MDF bases, Battlescale buildings, I-94 decals, Litko Gaming Aids, Militia Miniatures, Raiden Miniatures 1/285th aircraft, Red Vectors MDF products, Vallejo paints and much, much more!

Does visiting battlefields etc. count? If so, Himeji Do.

I have never traveled only for the Hobby, but I always try to get together with gamers - Played a couple of games in London, and had lunch with fellow gamers (actually, Traveller RPG fans) in Maryland (just outside Washington) and San Francisco.

Not bad, starting in Halifax (Canada).

Dunster to Bergen Op Zoom (Netherlands) for the EuroGT [that's "Get Together"] & back = 1000 miles. Top-notch long weekend too  8)

Pruneau

I remember a few

  • Went to Dublin for an RPG gettogether, where no games were played, we just went from the pub watching the footy to the club, then crashed at my mates apartment, all 12 or so of us, then breakfast and back to the pub by noon :)

  • Meetup in Salzburg with a mate that had a guest apartment  :P, we must have drank like 10 crates of mexican beer, jamming and playing drunk shootemups all the while.

  • And heading over to Dunster in a few weeks for a weekend of miniature madness  8)

On my wish list, I'm just hoping I'll have the cash one day to travel to Gettysburg and see where it all happened...

Not travelled outside SE England for hobby purposes, am trying to convince the wife that we should go to Center Parcs in Valkensvaard though, obviously this is because it would be an excellent family holiday and nothing to do with it being on XXX Corps line of advance during Market Garden.

Just for  "The Hobby" then Cambrai and St Quentin in September.

Furthest afield with "Hobby Related Stuff" was a trip to Corinth and Mycenae via Lapanto (Absolutely fantastic) which invvolved driving across Greece (I am a man without fear  ;))

But we were in the Adriatic on a canoeing holiday.

Went to Maidstone once. It does get annoying that the puffy bloody southerners think its too far if they have to cross the M25.....(S.E. and bloody Lodern)

Sometimes I think it would be easier to go to Partizan or similar rather than getting in and out of London  ;)
As a Maidstone resident I'm intrigued as to what hobby related event you went to (and once is probably enough for most people)
