Persevering with the rules although probably using a mixture of BKC II and III as I am not great at remembering the differences between new and old rules.

Allied Forces

1x CO (CV9)
3x HQ (CV8)
5x American Sherman 75mm
3x American Sherman 76mm
9x British Sherman M4
5x American Infantry
1x American MG
1x American Mortar
3x American M3/ M5 Halftracks
3x American M24 Chaffee
German Forces

1x CO (CV9)
3x HQ (CV8)
7x Panzer IV
9x Infantry (Panzerfuasts) (Motorised)
3x Mortars (Motorised)
6x Veteran Infantry (Panzerfuasts)
6x Trucks
3x Motorcycles
3x Sdkfz 251/1

Turn 1
The allies won the roll off and decided to go first. The American armour managed one move forwards while the British armour, not to be out done by their counterparts, made two. The Allied infantry failed to advance. Two of the Chaffees, in their recce role reached the outskirts of the town.

The Germans were not so lucky and both the panzer and veteran infantry order groups failed. With the help of the CO, the motrorised infantry made two moves, almost reaching the town in the centre of the board.

Turn 2
It was the turn of the American armour to fail and the British only succeeded in making one move. The Allied infantry, needing to catch up was also able to make one move.

The German armour moved on the German right flank, looking to counter the American armour heading in that direction. The veteran infantry made one move forwards while the motorised infantry disembarked, with its leading elements occupying the town.

Turn 3
Having failed in the previous turn and now being in range of the German armour, the American armour blundered. With a bit of luck, they rolled a 9 and one unit was able to make two shots at the German armour, although this had little effect. The British armour continued their steady advance towards the centre of the board with the infantry also making one move, but still lagging behind.

It was now the turn of the German armour to fail alongside the veteran infantry. The motorised infantry split, with half under the HQ occupying the wood near their deployment zone and the other half opening up on the leading British Sherman with their mortars. The result was one Sherman knocked out and one more suppressed with three hits.

Turn 4
Unsurprisingly by now, the American armour and infantry failed, while the British armour went a step further and blundered, rolling a 7 which forced the CO to retreat towards their board edge.

The game swung in the German favour, with their armour knocking out two Sherman 76mm and one 75mm, although a blunder for the motorised infantry (rolling a 6 so moving forward) and the failure of the veteran infantry restricted the German luck.

Turn 5
In response to the last turn, the British armour knocked out two mortar teams and one infantry. The American armour moved to be in a better firing position and the infantry successfully moved forward with the halftracks reaching the town and dismounting their infantry into two of the buildings.

The German armour managed to suppress one American Sherman but that was all. The veteran infantry failed again (veteran?not so sure...) but the motorised infantry went on the offensive, with two units charging into one of the US held buildings. Although one unit was suppressed, they managed to defeat the US infantry and capture the building. The mortars dealt with the other US occupied building, knocking out the infantry unit within it.

Turn 6
As almost expected, the American armour failed. The infantry on foot managed three moves to be in support of the units near the town. The British armour also failed its orders.

The Germans held onto the town but the armour failed, while the veteran infantry was able to make one move towards the fight.

Turn 7
Finally the American armour managed one move to react to the approach infantry on its flank and suppressed the threatening unit. The British armour knocked out the remaining mortar team. The infantry  in the town attempted to charge on of the occupied buildings but lost the combat and was knocked out.

The German infantry in the town destroyed the nearest M3 halftrack (although it was empty) while the armour had great success, knocking out two Sherman 75mm and suppressing the last 76mm. Unsurprisingly, the veteran infantry failed.

Turn 8
The British armour targeted the nearest units, destroying two motorcycles and one truck as well as one infantry unit. The American armour suppressed the nearest infantry unit while the infantry succeeded in knocking out two German infantry units.

The German armour knocked out the remaining American armour (two Sherman 75mm) and was able to destroy 1 American infantry unit and 1 MG unit. At this point the American player decided to concede defeat, as the Germans still had a largely untouched infantry command and armour command while they had lost two commands, despite the British armour still containing 8/9 tanks.
