Thanks for all the comments.

D Guy - I used flags from Pendraken's PNFL 71 Franco-Prussian flag sheet. I used PVA to glue the flags in place and then"crease" them before the glue sets to make it look like they are flapping in the wind. Once dry I painted the edges the appropriate colours to complete the look.

fred - while I have masses of 6mm Spearhead and Modern Spearhead armies I have never really been attracted to GWSH, not entirely sure why. Personally I love ITLSU, even it they are an older set of TFL's rules. With the fairly simple Divisional HQ level house rules we have come up with we can play quite large scale games, like the recent refight of 1st Gaza.

That's some fine work.  Paul R did right by you but the basing is very good too.

Today is a slightly sad day. I have used an old fold down writing desk as my painting table for the last decade or more. It was bequeathed to my son by his maternal grandfather and we shared it when he lived at home. Since he moved to Christchurch I have been 'looking after it' for him until he found a way to get it down there. Today a colleague of his, who was driving what would have been an empty van down to Christchurch, collected the desk.

I have a good lead on a replacement so hopefully I will be back to painting soon :-SS :-w

I must say that this set of little guys is quite wonderful to look at! Nice work on the tartan which can certainly be a trial.
And horses - nice. I really like horses that other people paint  :)

My favorite (beside the pipers) are the vickers MGs. The highlighting that suggests worn paints makes them.

Good luck in the pursuit of a new desk and may the powers that guide such thing make it perfectly level.
Encumbered by Idjits, we pressed on

Really excellent work, Paul !  :-bd

Hope you find a suitable replacement desk, as soon as...

Cheers - Phil.

Nice work especially the kilts. Fingers crossed you get a writing desk replacement soon.
