Thanks again.  :)

I know why - getting the coat to look right, all those leather straps, stirrups, the mane, tail and lower legs, the white bits. It just goes on and on.

You are right - you are absolutely right! I've just come from painting more of them. Because there are three pairs of legs it is like painting three separate figures but without the same sense of accomplishment! I'm glad I don't work in a realm (usually) where the cavalry is mounted on spiders or - centipedes!  :o

I find making an assumption that everyone's tack is black, and using a black undercoat you can save a lot of faff for a very decent table top return ;)

Pixie and I are continuing to tag team what will be my armies at Sedgemoor and Killiecrankie.
He has just turned out Kirke's (1685)

Here is a link to the slideshow (I hope) of a few more shots of Pixie's Queen Dowager's Regiment;

Thanks, Nathan!

PS. The desicision not to reverse the coat colours of the drummer was mine (could have gone either way I think). Just don't want any blame to accrue to Pixie  :)

Reversed coat colours - I strongly suspect NOT using them for regiments in the field is correct (as opposed to "first full set of "parade" uniforms received and no ones shot the really obvious bloke with the drum and groovy coat yet" ;) ).

Pixie also now has the Coldstream Guard now near done:

Three new pics added to the beginning of the slideshow:

I am about half way through painting two regiments of (nominally) Somerset militia (red coats faced yellow) and a mounted commander (an as yet to be named worthy from the aristocracy). The horses for the Tangier horse are near finished and will concentrate on color block the riders nest.

Well done, Nathan.

Cheers chaps - the credit really should go to the sculptor, as (to misquote someone else who said it) all i do is slap paint on by the numbers :D

And those sculpts are super - I don't know if Leon/Dave is watching, but I wonder what chunk of sales the LoA stuff generates? I'd have thought it a fairly "niche" market (sandwiched forlornly between the ECW/30YW and Marlborough) but commissions for it are very popular and piccies seem to pop up all the time!
