Didn't have As and Bs when I did my exams. It was what has just been introduced but back to front, i.e. top grade was 1, bottom grade was 9 and a pass was 6, so there are now people out there looking for jobs where at one time or another the top grade was 1, 9, A or A*.

There are two games in the series so far, Austerlitz and Waterloo. Some nice nuances coming through that meet with my perception of what should be happening in a Napoleonic game. WE just need to do a few more of the smaller scenarios before putting the big boy on the table.

5. Two players

The battle was diplomatically fraught as the City of Camberwick Green is regarded as their capital by the Camberwick Greeners and as one of their provincial capitals by the Trumptoners. Consequently it had to be treated with kid gloves. As a result the Confederation army approached quite gingerly, giving Trumpton the opportunity to call up both an army and navy relief force. The city had a small Trumpton garrison, and the castle, on its own island, was also garrisoned by Trumpton. The city and castle could be approached by a narrow causeway flanked by marsh, and then the sea. to attack this way was to prove very risky, but the Confederation needed to take the castle. Camberwick Green could also be approached by a more round about overland route, with another road.
The bulk of the Confederation army opted for the latter route, but three battalions, a unit of jaeger and an artillery battery made a direct assault on the castle, taking it but suffering horrendous casualties from the navy, city defenders and castle garrison.
Unfortunately the Confederation commander had misunderstood his orders and attempted to take an important crossroads, destroying most of the relief force in the process (the 2nd Trumpton Dragoons - Duke Windy's Own - made a spirited, but ultimately fruitless and fatal charge), but failed to reach the city itself before nightfall, thus the gallant and steadfast soldiers of Trumpton carried the day.
