Civilians for French Indian Wars

How suitable would the Seven Years War civilians pack be for settlers in the New World, or are there any other suggestions?

I will need some settlers for the Indians to attack.

I happily use them as civilians in the ECW period and the women and little girl in EC42, at least, should work for "settlers" also
Take a look at EC22 (shovel and wheelbarrow)  EC8 peasants (pitchfork and ax).

Nearly all of them have muskets but some have clubs - not sure if there's anything can be done with them really.

Can any of the cogniscenti in the room shed any light on how many Indians are likely to have carried firearms, as opposed to solely melee weapons? 

Could some of the Plains War figures be introduced as some are armed with knives and clubs?  Some foot armed with tomahawks would have been good but there appears to be only a mounted figure with such a weapon, which is a pity as I think of it as the melee weapon most associated with Indians.  Perhaps with some delicate filing, the club coukd be converted to a tomahawk?

Specifically the one on the right (I'm pretty sure Leon could be sweet talked into doing you a pack entirely of that figure, if necessary). Clip off most of the front of the javelin, bend and flatten a section of the rear part and you have a reasonable "Native American with tomahawk"

Alan, just an opinion (non-scholarly) on Native American armament.
Muskets were highly prized trade goods. Britain and France were contesting for North America (at varying levels of intensity) for nearly 200 years and often (particularly the French) using the indigenous people as proxies. The various tribes (and associations) were also in nearly perpetual warfare with one another over hunting and trade rights (and simple antipathy). All of this suggests to me a fairly high proportion of musket armed Indians by the 1750's.

That said the nature of the ground (the dense Eastern woodlands) required hand weapons (clubs and later steel "trade" tomahawks). This latter weapon was ubiquitous (after 1720?) on the frontier and carried by virtually everyone (including Europeans that spent any time on the frontier).

If you haven't looked at them, Osprey's book on Braddock's campaign and the battle of the Monongahela (and Fort Necessity) gives a really good sense of how the Indians were armed, as does their book on Point Pleasant (1774).

Ithorial's suggestion is good about converting the spear to a tomahawk - certainly looks doable.
