Some interesting match-ups there alright - Gladiator vs CR42, Wellesley vs CA 133 - not a Spitfire or 109 in sight  :o

What a little gem of a video. Good to be reminded of the contribution made by Commonwealth forces in WW2. Quite agree - something intriguing about these sideshow campaigns. Must confess I know very little of the campaign, with most WW2 books I've read (plus one Commando comic) only touching on it.

And featuring such a wonderful collection of fascinating aircraft, too.  Also agree about the 'second eleven' aircraft comment but thankfully the Italian planes were on a par (until of course the Hurries arrived). As well as the planes, liked the way the block of Italian troops rippled as they jogged up to Mussolini - made me think that's how a block of ancient Roman legionnairies might have looked like if required to swiftly move into their position in the battle line. And, at minute 3.56 , is that guy having a pee in the cockpit?   :o

Finally, love the IL-2 Sturmovik flight simulation artwork and graphics. Same continent but not the same campaign, of course, but couldn't resist throwing in this short clip just to show off the action and graphics again .. one (or two) 109s coming up Pierre ...

Nice little find that and great to see such a mix of kit in action :). I suppose that this is why I like the whole AVBCW period in that I can mix up pretty much anything I like for my various forces.

Oh yes, yes, YES! Lemmey, you're talking my language.

I bought some Tumbling Dice a year or so ago. Just some mid war Mediterranean stuff, but it's a gateway. Just ordered some Phantoms and MiG17's.

I did try flying them over Pendraken, but the "this one small, that one far away" is sort of wrong when you're looking down on the table.

Hurricanes, proper fighters, they're what my Grandpa flew.  8) The Poles famously recalibrated their machine guns to about a quarter of the standard RAF range, they liked to mix it up close!

I don't know why, but i have always found the italian airplanes to have a nifty camoscheme and some cool early models like the cr42 falco and the sm79 sparviero.
