Recommend me a set of rules for WWII 3mm like Sabre Squadron...

Still prattling on about Sabre Squadron, I have discovered, while looking for stuff to use for those rules, that I have a whole load of unused 2 & 3mm minis... Including a load of PitHead and some O8 WWII. The Pithead minis look much smaller and seem to be a mix of whatever I could get, but I think I have enough Barbarossa campaign German & Soviet O8 packs for a small game if the unit scale is similar to Sabre Squadron - I do prefer the 1:1 scale games anyway.

So, like the subject says, can anyone recommend a game like Sabre Squadron, unit scale 1:1 or close thereto, Skirmish or small unit, but for WWII (Barbarossa)?

Two Fat Lardies "Chain of command" is my goto WW2 skirmish set.

Don't know Sabre Squadron well enough to know if they're similar.

Blitzkreig Commander could be played at pretty much 1:1 scale with 3mm figures
There are 100 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who can work from incomplete data

CoC is proper Skirmish individual figures - Sabre Squadron, although 1:1 representation, uses bases of 3-4 figures each, plus individual vehicles. As I'm using 3mm minis for this, I don't want individual bases!

I already play CoC, I don't fancy it with multiple basing, although I know others use it.

Hmm... IABSM might work, anyone have an opinion on that?

I have been badgered several times for a WW2 version and have some ideas for how it would work but it's some way off.

I did buy IABSM, and it does look like it'll scratch the itch, but more is good...

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

I wasn't fond of previous incarnations of Command Decision (although it's been so long I can't remember why...). Never actually seen the GHQ rules...

The ones from GhQ are free which always helps

fistful of tows works for WW2 as well

I was under the impression the free rules were tank only - no infantry. Is that true? Not what I'm looking for, if so...

I have FFoT2, too many rules for me... FFoT3 was too expensive.

You could try rapid fire, it was written for 20mm, we use it for 15mm with no adjustments but it would work fine in you substituted cm for the inches  :)

Krieg ohne Hass

Division & Corps level rules.

Have played some western desert games and we find they work for us.

I think Magister Militum stock them.
