I played in a demo game Richard Clarke ran up at the Peterborough club. Really impressed with the rules and I ordered one of the bundles so I have a nice pdf to look at now.

Thinking I will use my Pendraken FIW figures with it, but I am thinking about how to base them up and use them as I feel 10mms are a little small for individual basing.

For 10mm games of SP2 I'd mount 4 figures on 20mm x 20mm square base and substitute 1 base for each 28mm figure in the Group (typically 6-10 depending on the type). Base 'Big Men' individually or as small vignettes on 20mm diameter circular bases so they stand out.

In the introduction, Richard explains that the rules are intended to cover figure:man scales of anything from 1:1 for small skirmishes, to 1:5 or 1:10 for larger actions - and the mechanisms handle either equally well.

I do like that idea of the multiple figure base 10mm substituting for one 28mm figure. In a Lardie special there are 3 interesting FPW Franc Tireurs scenarios for SP. Haven't yet seen SP2, but I assume the scenarios are compatible.

(I've just got the pdf of SP2 , no time to read yet. But I think I will base "1 fig". We're planning to play FIW in 10mm. )

You'll have to tweak here and there and substitute SP2 unit details but there's nothing about the scenarios that will make them incompatible - it's just not that type of game.

Yes, people are posting battle reports using the old scenario packs with the SP2 rules. About the biggest change is probably the replacement of the blinds with the deployment point.

I think I'll use that idea of using multiple figures on a base instead of singles for the 10mm Pendraken FIW figures I have to use them with SP2. It will make units look a bit more like a decent number of men.
