Can anyone supply me with the answer to my question please?

Fantasy Range: AC5, War Mammoth (1) £2.00

The picture was uploaded by Fred, I believe.

Is this a one piece casting? Or is the howdah seperate?

I'm ideally wanting just the big woolly elephant model. But, if need be, I'll have to chop and resculpt if its a one-piece model.

Cheers,
Roy

It is indeed my photo! I really ought to finish it some day....

I'm pretty sure the howdah is cast on, the tusks are separate.

But I think there is a mammoth without Howdah too.

I'm thinking that the photo is of AC6.

Even though it shows for both AC5 and AC6 on the website

If you buy the howdah'd mammoth, you need to order the tusks separately as it doesn't come with any. Also they gave no crew, so the  Barbarian spearman standing at the ready are great mamuts!

Thanks for the information. I'll be ordering one to collect at Hammerhead, so I'll confirm the details with Leon.

New one(s) have got (should have) separate howdahs.....I can remember swearing at them, while I was reaming the tops of the howdahs out.

Leon

THe howdah is a separate casting, so you can get AC5 which is just the mammoth, or AC6 which comes with the howdah.  They both include tusks though, I'm not sure why lemmey's was missing those!  The new ones in the Warband Barbarian range come with crew figures as well:

Cheers Leon and Phil.

I'll be making out a shopping list, so I can play Warband against Bodvoc asap. Hopefully, Skywalker and the Redcar Crew will also join in, if I take along two armies (when I've two, that is).

O Dinas Powys

Possibly too late, but there are at leat two mammoth sculpts: a larger one with an ear-ring and beams hanging from rope at the sides; the older sculpt is smaller and comes without accoutrements!

In both cases, the howdah (and tusks) are separate.

Don't know if Phil modified the beamy-mammoth at all for the Warband range, my one is a pre-production model that Leon kindly provided when I was putting together my Tusk project AGES ago...  8)

Cheers!

I only did ones that had the beams already hanging on the flanks of the beastie(s), Meirion.

If the 'older' version was 'plain'..... I didn't modify any of those.  :)

Cheers - Phil.

Yes, I bought two woolly elephants at Hammerhead, the other weekend. Haven't looked at them yet, they're still in the bags  :-[
