Cancel your holiday.
Make your daughter rearrange her wedding.
Tell grandma sorry about her birthday party, but you promise to be at her 101st.

Whatever it takes, keep Sunday 10th April 2016 free so that you can come to the Bloody Big Battles Bash in Oxford UK!

The intention is to run a dozen or so historical scenarios, ranging across 1850-1900, mostly for 4 to 6 players. We're now working on the list of games to be offered. More details in due course.

I hope telling you all now gives enough advance notice so that everyone who wants to come can do so. Note that attendance will be limited.

Registration for our first Bash Day is now officially open. The sign-up form is in the BBB Yahoo group files and also on the OWS website:
http://www.oxfordwargamessociety.org.uk/bigbash.html
If you would like to attend please send it to me listing which games you wish to play on the day.

Note that spaces are limited. Priority will be given first to OWS members and members of the other participating clubs; then to members of the BBB Yahoo group who have already expressed interest in attending. Obviously I hope that we will be able to accommodate everyone who wants to come along, but the sooner you let me know, the better your chances of getting a space and your first choice of game.

Thanks for all the encouragement, and let's make it a great day!

Unfortunately my finances are not going to enable me to attend after all. However if it becomes an annual event I'll be up for it next year, when the books will be in a much healthier state. If there is another Warfare event I would be up for that as I shall be attending again as part of the Liverpool participation team.

Oh, that's a shame. You will be missed.

Excellent Chris :). Just don't let the Dave Fielder chap in as I always lose to him :D ;).

Registrations for the BBB Bash Day are going well but there are still spaces available. Highlights for the day will include the Forum's very own Mollinary running a participation game for the battle of Gitschin (1866), which I am sure will be both spectacular and enjoyable. Noted author Mike Embree will also be present, so bring your copies of his books along to get them autographed. Come along and join us to meet old friends, make new ones, and enjoy some terrific games.

No charge up front, just a fiver on the door on the day. Sign up here:

With only a few days to go to the Bash, who else from the forum is attending? Dave Fielder and I will be there (as long as cars/heating systems don't break down!) and Mike Embree will be attending as well. Hope to see some other forum members on the day.

Hoping I can make it ...  ;)

It has worked out just about perfectly. We have 30-odd players and almost all the games are fully manned all day, and pretty much everyone getting to play their first choice games. We added one more new recruit today. Could squeeze a couple more in for the afternoon but any more than that could be tight.

Looking forward to a fantastic day!

Well nice to know a few forum members will be there. I'm on the Koniggratz game as well, as are Dave and Mike I believe, so hopefully a chance to chat. I believe I'm on the Austrian side...
