So as Techno can testify to I sent him many PM's annoying him as to when the Flodden range was appearing so I could get some for Warband, and it was mentioned in another post  that he will be working on the Dragonman range soon

Could we get a basic idea of historical period that they will be based on at all?

Cheers
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

It's going to be a bit of a mishmash of different periods and styles but we've not discussed it just yet.  I'll be having a chat with Steve Hardy to get his input and then me and Phil will work it out.  There's a whole host of options, the Flodden style stuff we've just done, earlier Medieval, Rohan or Gondor types, GoT Starks or Lannisters, the list goes on and on!

Personally I'd prefer something not quite as historically accurate, but not as far as GW's massive swords, pointy helmets and skulls everywhere...

I concur.   ;)

The Dragonmen were designed with an eye on the 'traditional' D&D style sort-of-late-Medieval stuff (with a mental lingering around the Dragonlance imagery), which would fit well with Pendraken's historical figure range, and also mesh closely with 'fantasy men' from many other ranges.

As with all the armies in the book though, they've purposely avoiding being too prescriptive about appearance, in order to give players the space to let their imaginations run wild.

So, 'There's a whole host of options, the Flodden style stuff we've just done, earlier Medieval, Rohan or Gondor types, GoT Starks or Lannisters' gets my vote.   :D

In terms of bespoke sculpts, i'd really like to see the dragon theme coming through strongly.

With riders on big flying dragons with large wings, that could be used for Melniboneans please?

I don't think your ideas on Dragonmen is quite right yet, Techno. Perhaps a few more months contemplation before you put Dremmel to flesh.

Why don't you make some nice Korean War infantry, or Warsaw Pact, or Napoleonic somethings instead? While you're thinking. Eh? Makes sense.

Give it a few months. After Christmas would be OK for Dragonmen.  Christmas 2016. But you want to get it right.  Better not to rush.

Korean War now, doesn't take thinking about at all. Oh look! Here's a handy illustration!

Modern stuff would be too much of a distraction. What he needs is something more fantastical. An army with weird non-metallic weapons, exotic costumes resembling anthropomorphic animals, blood sacrifices, winged serpents ... I believe one of the forum members mentioned a South American army a little like that, though I don't think he's too fussed if it gets made or not, he hardly ever mentions it ;)
