I've been debating returning to 10mm for Warmaster, and these would work so well for Empire figures without having to pay crazy prices for the old GW packs.  :)

No, it is for a pair of wargame armies. This customer does tend to like BIG armies.

Must go back to my mantra

I am going to repeat my mantra to help me stop myself adding to the lead mountain

Scott Blair

Hi guys,

Thanks for all of the really positive feedback on these releases. I am the mysterious "Mr X" who got Phil to do the sculpting and Tony, the painting! It has been a long term (decades plan) to do Anglo-Scots Wars armies ever since seeing the old Dixon Flodden range. However the project was never realistic in terms of mass representation until Pendraken started a range a while back. I suggested that one and Dave took me up. What a great team these guys are! However being a typical gaming anorak I always wanted to get further codes done and was fortunate enough to get this process going towards in 2013-prompted by the 500th anniversary.  Now we have them ! We tried to get them done in such a way that they could be used for other armies such as Italian Wars or even fantasy. So glad others see those potential uses.
Even within the Flodden concept, these figures have a range of uses. For example the French could be used not just as a minor force for the actual 1513 campaign but can be expanded into the 1522-3 conflict -another spin off from the main event of that year with Henry in France. The new codes Could also be used for the late 1520s Scots Civil War (obscure or what but Linlithgow Bridge anyone?). Plan is to get the Flodden armies done and hopefully on a big gaming table ( at the Glasgow and District Club)   in early part of next year for a refight. Will be sure to get some photos for the forum!
At some point might look at expanding and doing the 1540s Rough Wooing but that might need quite different looking Tudors and the addition of mounted arquebusiers and the like. However that is some way off!
Meantime kudos again to Leon and Dave for agreeing to  it; Phil for making it a reality and Tony for delivering painted armies with consummate skill! I cannot recommend "Team Flodden" enough!
Look forward to any more thoughts or comments!

Welcome Scott!

I doubt there are many 'Hi I am new here but I have just commisioned some fantastic additions to the Pendraken ranges posts', but I suppose we will find a way to deal with them. I hope you enjoy your stay, and looking forward to see all of these in action.
