Assembling Cannons tips

anyone have any tips on assembling Pendraken cannons, I have nearly 200 to assemble (WSS, AWI, Napoleonic, ACW)  finding them rather fiddly any tips appreciated

do them in a tray... so when the wheel falls off and rolls away it wont roll across the table, roll across the floor and superglue itself to the floor on the far side of the kitchen.

there were some discussions about using baking powder to set the superglue instantly.... Well I think it was baking powder - someone will no doubt confirm

Blob of blue tac or similar under the middle of the spokes, superglue the bits on, then pop off the blue tac for painting Oh, and be careful trimming the pokey bit for the wheels, they're often got a little blob of metal on and you need to avoid chopping the whole thing off as then you need to either drill & pin or bodge enough glue to hold without support...

Use baking powder!

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, baking powder would be it
The long-term benefits of baking powder have been proved by modellers
Whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
Than my own meandering experience, I will dispense this advice now ....

I apply superglue to one surface and dust the other with a small amount of baking powder using an old size 00 brush. Press together and it's stuck.

This has saved my sanity when trying to glue 1:2400 sails to 1:2400 masts, over the last couple of days.

Of course if you get superglue on one finger and baking powder on another ....

As Blu-tac was mentioned above.
Has anyone else tried Black-tac ?
I got some AGES ago and had never tried it, until last week.

It's really rather good. Sticks far more securely than Blu-tak......Though it can be a bit of a b*gger to peel off smaller 'bits' as it really 'grips' quite hard.

never tried the black tack... green yes, white yes but never balck
I now put a blob of blue tack on a board, plonk cannon body on and then stick wheels on. flinging half a packet of baking powder over to ensure it sticks instantly

As I say...
It does hold things very firmly compared to blu-tak
I'm just wondering whether it might actually pull a superglued wheel back off again, when it was peeled away.

I find the blue tac under the centre of the axle works well. The gun body then sits on its own whilst you use your fingers to manoeuvre the wheel onto the lug. I also find increasing the size of the hole in the centre of the wheel with a very few turns of a pinvice also helps a lot.

maybe a close relative, I do love artillery though  and having large armies is only encouraging me
