Still plodding away with this project.

First General stand completed. Rapier General in chariot, the original spear armed general has become an army standard-bearer and a driver has been converted into the Lugal (King) himself. He's lurking behind Rapier New Kingdom Egyptian swordsmen (crudely) converted to represent Shub Lugal guardsmen with bronze sickle swords. "Conversion" is mainly paint but with slivers of card to make the shields rectangular Sumerian ones rather than the curved top types they come with.

Also completed my first objective marker.  6mm scale Baccus "Baa Sheep" herded by a Rapier Skirmisher Shepherd. Baccus sheep from their Equipment range with a shepherd created by removing the javelin from a Rapier skirmisher figure. Sadly Baccus don't do "Woof Dogs" to go with the "Baa Sheep" and "Moo Cows" :(

Far as I can see 15mm is the smallest scale that Irregular do dogs in. Nothing I can see in 6mm. If anyone knows I'm wrong, please say.

They have :  GWBE3

Dog pulled MG and crew (3)

It's in the 6 mm WW I  section.

You could drop them a line and see if the dog comes separate or if it's one single cast.

Thanks, I'll investigate further!

Really cool - I have to say I like the chariot general plus spearmen approach, looks very Bronze Age :)

I liked it so much my Dwarf barbarian Fey pseudo-proto-pretend Bronze Age European/Steppe-ish warbands are the same :D

Quick shot (camera phone, low light) of a test game of my "King of Kish" rules.

An Elamite raid on a Sumerian town.

This is the end of turn two. In turn three rather a lot of 60x60mm bases with things like Chariots #1 or Spears #4 written on them appear! The bulk of both armies are still off table at this point.

The Elamites were to capture the sheep and herd them off the table, burn the Amorite camp, burn the famous "Blue Temple of Ninkhursag" near the town of Erewhon and if possible capture and pillage the small fort nearby.

The sheep, controlled by die rolls for speed and direction, ran full speed away from the Elamites and fled off the Sumerian table edge. The skirmishers sent to burn the Amorite camp discovered it was occupied by a unit of Amorite tribesmen (another random roll) and were routed, fleeing the table. The assault on the fort by the Elamite general and a second unit went to so well the Elamite general was incapacitated (killed or badly wounded) and the army fled.

The bulk of the Sumerian army did little but form a battle line in front of the temple and watch the Elamites collapse due to a string of abysmal die rolls.

So conclusions are that there's still much work to get the rules fully playable but we have something here. So back to eliminating some bugs while adding others :-)

As far as featureless desert plains go, that one looks beautiful Mike!
