I remember that club from '79 - 85/6ish dozens of 25mm ancient gamers happily playing WRG 5th edition, I even remember putting a game on at a show in the town hall.
Moved to Hemlington library for a while that's about when i started drifting away

We had a nice letter from a customer a while back saying how he'd first started buying our figures at the Town Hall show years ago.

Anyone from the club with more pictures of the League of Ratsburg game you did last year? Or tips and ideas for someone wanting to do something vaguely similar

Sandanista that's the period I used to go regularly - though I was more of a d&d player than an ancients gamer at the time.

I'm not sure whether I'm familiar with the game you mean but can you spot it among these pictures from Smoggycon 2009?

Yes yes- this is all well and good, but can you safely say that our cars would be safe whilst driving into Smogborough.

As long as you keep the car moving it's fine...

There is extra security on the car park but even so, don't leave anything on view in the car.  We had a bit of concern last year when one of the traders left their SATNAV on the dashboard but we got hold of him before anything happened.

The "old" club started at Bertram Ramsey school in 1969ish, when me and a friend were caught reading a wargames book in a chemistry class.
Luckily the teacher simply told us to go and see the Art teacher, Derek Boyle, who also collected toy soldiers and so it started. At one point we had nigh on 100 members.
Unfortunately things drifted and a lot of us hit our early 20's: got into reenactment, footie, marriage etc. Shame.

I was clearing out my office last week and found various medals from club competitions from the early to mid 70's.

Whilst I've been involved in a couple of clubs in Sussex nothing compares with some of the huge games we ran back then. Hopefully I'll start popping into the new club in the New Year.

Cheers

Just tried to sign up to your website but I keep getting a "Doesn't appear to be a valid email adress message" I've tried three different email addresses but still had no luck signing up.

Any help would be appreciated,
