Illyrian Infantry

I was thinking of painting some Illyrian infantry to complement my Rebublican Romans. I am using FOG rules so they are classed as medium offensive spearmen. What little I do know is that they had either a Scutum or round sheild and a greek style helmet.
The question is, which if any figures could be used to represent this unit. I was thinking about using the Roman Marine figure.

Suggestions anyone?

If you can get a copy of Wargames Research Group's 'Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars' that should have some line drawings of their clothing, armour and weapons.

From what i remember Illyrians had longer tunics than Romans and some unusual shapes of helmet, but they also tended to adopt styles from people they fought and traded with. Roman marines would probably look ok for them if you give them bright colours and shield designs and vary them from figure to figure to make them look more tribal rather than regular.
