7YW French & 1792-1800 Austrian questions

Everyone:

A couple of questions:
1. What type of headwear are the 1792-1800 Austrian AUT1 and AUT2 codes wearing?

2. Do the French 7YW Grenadier codes SYF6... have that weird 'bag' thing (sorry, don't know the name) on their headgear?

Well, I have not painted them as exactly French, but that's them in a rear view on the right



I interpreted the rear as the bag ( I think that is what it is called in English) but it does not hang down the side in a horrendously obvious way.

Sorry to threadjack, but what have you used for the terrain? ive seen similar before but never thought to ask.
