Anyone know of a good source for these?

I have enough problems with gluing individual 28mm weapons.

I wouls suggest brass wire with a good pair of clippers.

Brass rod or nylon bristles from a stiff broom seems to be the consensus here:

Depends on how clumsy or accident prone you are. If not to much then I would go with the brass rod, cut to size, hammer one end flat then file your point.
If you are of a clumsy and accident prone nature that can regularly pick up figures by their pikes and know exactly how many pikes you have by counting the holes in your hands then the safest option would be the plastic bristles. Cut them to size, flatten etc, etc, etc. Apparently very bendy but bounce back straight away but most of all they are safe.
