How Do I get promoted

I see that each member of the forum has a rank, with some of the longer serving members being higher ranks.  Is their some  system for it?

Yep, as lentulus says, it's based on how many posts you have.  I think the first promotion occurs at 50 posts, so not too far to go!

Based on my posting frequency I should be promoted soon. But after that my captains bars are a ways off.
